JIC Currency Certification

What is JIC Currency Certification?

The JIC Certification process examines a solution’s use of big data, its technology and infrastructure, the interoperability it provides, how it’s meeting privacy regulations, its level of data transparency, the flexibility of workflows and transactions, and its media stewardship, among other factors. The evaluation criteria stems from baseline requirements established with consensus from buyers and sellers and examines the operational readiness and key priorities for enablement, covering both transactional methodology and actual product features to determine permitted uses of data. The JIC aims to advance a multicurrency future for cross-platform video advertising.

Certification Overview:

Currency certification status will be granted on a two-year term spanning the calendar year.

Certified Companies will be up for recertification every two years and will be subject to further audit and evaluation within that window to maintain full certification status for transaction.

Through a rigorous data vetting and approval process, currency providers are evaluated against a set of minimum requirements that are needed for all cross-platform currencies to be transactional, with buyers and sellers having an equal voice in defining the criteria that is used to evaluate measurement solutions.

JIC’s National Cross Platform Certifications

As the JIC seeks to enable a multicurrency environment, a rigorous analysis was conducted across three deal types, evaluating performance of emerging solutions across planning, pricing, and stewardship scenarios reflective of actual media transactions -- looking at real-world use cases, not theory.

The evaluation encompasses the company’s ability to support both historical metrics and the production of new cross-platform metrics. As the industry moves away from averages in Linear towards exactness across all platforms, the rubric ensures that measurement companies can deliver precise second-by-second impression counting. This unified approach benefits marketers by providing consistency across all creatives, placements, publishers/sites, and platforms/channels.

Each measurement company was evaluated on the overall basis of its ability to be a cross-platform currency and was further analyzed across the following classifications:
